expected not to stay much overnight in this small village, hoping only for something to eat. this restaurant was recommended, they could probably have similar eating in others, I simply tried and liked eating so much I had to return the next day. while the menu has no vegan options (apart from perhaps guacamole with the waitress I talked about their local specialties: tempesquistle, tetechas, cacallas, palmitos, flor de sabila. in the round all regional flowers and plants that this cactus rich region offers. they would serve them with different meats, but I asked to change that for guacamole and drilling. a large part of the travel experience tries as foodie different foods. While they can have the typical nopal anywhere in the country, this regional speciality was something I had never tried....the experience loved so much that I had to eat it again the next morning before I made the trip. for drinking I have tried various juices of cactus fruits.
