Even before you enter the premises you can see the dedication they put on the gardening arrangements and the ambiance. Inside, it is more of the same: A nice, big garden (big but not too plant-populated), a fountain and the main Hacienda building. You can choose (if available) to be seated on the building or on the garden (and don't worry, the garden tables that are not under standard roofing have some nice shade-providing tarps). This time we went for the garden and it was nice, not too cold (even on a cloudy day) since it is a walled garden and wind is not an issue. Can't say much about the inside of the Hacienda since we sat on the garden. It was a Saturday morning and they had some Marimba musicians setting a nice mood for breakfast. Service was a little slow (not really an issue for us, since we weren't on a tight schedule, mind that if you have some time restrictions), but they brought some bread and coffee to open the appetite. Food is average, not bad but not delicious (although the freshly made tortillas are quite good, you might want to get at least one quesadilla). I had an "El Poblano" (eggs topped with mole bathed chicken, beans and a hash brown), nice combination, not tasteless but the mole was a little bit on the weak side of the flavor spectrum. Portions are big enough for one person. In the end, the most pleasant thing about San Angel, for us, was the setting, quite nice to go with family/friends, not noisy at all and very relaxing. Also, enjoy the flower sighting!
