I just had a meal in the Mirador restaurant and I found the dishes OK but the taste could have been better. Good service, a bit price though. Good portions too. I would return but it wouldn't be my first option.
One of the most disappointing things about La Choza is how inconsistent they are with their food. Sometimes the food is elegantly presented and absolutely delicious and other times it is dull and even cold, as if it was frozen food that wasn't thoroughly reheated! At first I thought it only happened with certain dishes, but then it happened with dishes that I had had before. I have been disappointed so many times now that I just stopped going. I have friends that have made the same decision.
If you beleive it or not, the fish is very fresh and they have a great variance of plates. on Sundays Troubador band are playing and my children like the childrens room with Wii
I was a bit skeptical about a seafood restaurant in a city that's not on the coast but La Choza reminded me of some of the good seafood places in Puerto Vallarta. Well prepared and huge portions. My wife had an octopus dish that was tender and very lightly seasoned. I had 8 large shrimp with peppers onions and cheese. As in PV we were offered a complimentary starter of shrimp soup.We still can't figure out when to eat in Mexico. We arrived at 7 pm and realized that they were ready to close. They accommodated us and when I asked the waiter when is a good time to come he said between 4 and 6.Definitely worth going out of your way for.
"La Choza del Pescador" even though it's a small chain having 3 restaurants within the city of Puebla, we've found consistent good quality seafood, well prepared with good service. Not the cheapest seafood place around but seafood is delicate so the freshnes guarantee is important. The location on El Mirador on Calle 24 Sur by the Parque Ecologico is 3 stories high, elevator provided, delivery service and a large menu and specials all the time. Good choice for seafood, we like it.I should also mention this is a family friendly place, a kid menu and full bar service as well.
