El Patio House of Music - Isla Mujeres

this was our first time on the island and we did a lot of "following" others and watching entertainment. Because of that we went here 3 or 4 times. We were never disappointed. Not at all fancy but consistently good. Give it a try.

We saw this place from the street and wanted to check it out. We didn't eat but the rooftop bar was a nice breezy place to hangout and see some of the island from above. It rained a little but we snugged up to the bar and waited it out. Good prices and a good selection of beer and mixed drinks. You have to walk down the steps to the bathroom but it's a good reality check to watch how much you drink. The music is down in the courtyard so it wasn't in our faces up top. There is seating down by the music if you want to be up close and personal with it. Live music by the way. I'd highly recommend not getting a room on Hidalgo unless you want to listen to noise until 4 or 5 in the morning.

El Patio looks sort of weird from the outside, but once inside it's a cute restaurant reminiscent of someone's backyard. The bar wraps around a beautiful giant tree, giving the whole place a treehouse vibe. Great happy hour cocktail specials, plus live music.

Band playing popular hits of 80's and 90's while drinking tequila while 80F at 10pm, does it get any better?

Went to El Patio for a meal. The music started out ok, but continued to get louder and louder. U couldn't carry on a conversation. We ordered our food. The catch of the day! A good question. Two of us had it and it definitely wasn't a catch of the day unless u caught it in a freezer. The pieces were exactly the same. About a 1/2" thick and over cooked to the point u had to cut them with a knife. Love fish, but when it tastes fishy it's "old"! Been there, done that, not again!!

Love the music at El Patio. If Ryan isn't playing, you can be pretty sure he's picked an artist or band that is excellent. Go to the rooftop, order a drink, listen to the live music and...relax. Great place.

We never considered this an option for families...but hungry and hearing some great live music we checked it out and so glad we did.....Not a bar--a restaurant--great food options, drinks, nice outdoor patio with nice breeze blowing through...wish we had found this gem sooner--was our 5th time to Isla and never even thought of checking this out before--we'll be back!!!
