“La Mexicana” must known by Monterrey Locals. Is the breakfast must go place in downtown Monterrey City, is a butcher and tacos restaurant which offers their own butcher meat for their tacos. The flavors La Mexicana offers are plenty, but without questions, “carnitas and desherbada” are the best. Always accompanied with their traditional salsa, which stays in every single table from the establishment. Some lime to add flavor and you are all set, for a true “tacos de canasta” experience.
La comida es comida mexicana excepcional, deliciosa barbacoa, buen café y buena música en vivo. Limpio y ordenado, todo es amigable... Simplemente otro gran lugar para visitar.
In Monterrey there are many options for morning tacos. But of those options few are “canasta style” an old fashioned way of offering the tacos. They are greasy and very tasty, with different meats to choose from, mainly pork. They are always packed but anyway you will not have a problem finding a table to eat in either one of their two seating levels.
You need to taste this tacos before you leave the town. Excellent place with a lot of parking lot, many people attending you and very fast service
The location isn 't the best in Monterrey, it´s beside Mercado Juarez one of the oldest in town. The restaurant has its own parking (very important in this specific area) by the way customers are charged for the parking space. The food is so-so, I don 't like to receive crumbling tortillas in my tacos. The meat in them (all pork) in very tasty. The tables and chairs are made out of cement and are quite uncomfortable. The place is always packed.
It's the typical Mexican old fashioned taqueria, Monterrey style. Excellent value and taste with fresh carnitas, chicharron and other northern Mexican guisados
Amazing tacos, morcón and carnitas are the best of the best! When you get in to La Mexicana you can hear the mariachi and can see the piñatas hanging over you. It's Very special to Wait for a colored table and gives you a sensation of real pueblo.
You can go and have a tacos, a very good basket tacos with a delicious sauce. The place is very mexican and cozy! The price its good, but the place and the tradition are the best
