Milk Bar & Kitchen - Progreso

This nice restaurant was right next to our hotel in Progreso and we decided to pop in for a quick lunch. Me immediately made friends with the owner, a gringo expat named Charlie who was extremely friendly and helpful with all our questions. The food was simple, but really good, and they were helpful with us since we are both vegetarians. We returned the following day for breakfast. I had the chilaquiles which were really good. My wife had the standard breakfast of pancakes....excellent! Thanks Charly!

We had lunch with some friends on a sunday afternoon and all of us really enjoyed it. Two of us had the fish box, a take on fish and chips, large quantity of very fresh fish and perfect french fries, two had the coconut shrimp which had enough for two people and again very fresh, our fourth had chocolate ice cream with a fried apple fritter, he loves desserts, especially ice cream. Well, the dessert appeared to be fantastic, no one got a taste and it was gone quickly and was a big serving. We loved setting outside, limited seating outside, with the view of the gulf. We watched rain storms move down the coast and thru Progresso and stayed dry to enjoy the activity. Prices are very fair, servings large and service was good, we will return since we live in Merida.

I think milk is the best Restraunt in Progreso.The breakbeat burrito is the best in progreso,too. We are eating there tonight again.

Milk is awesome, the food is good and the service is great. The location is beautiful. I would definitely come here again.

We dined here a few times during our 6 month stay in Mexico. Food is great but service is very slow. This is not a bad thing as the location is perfect for people watching on the malecon and if you are on vacation you shouldn't be in a rush anyway! Awesome eggs Benedict and great coconut shrimp . We will certainly be back this fall!

Great people, great food at great price. Owner and staff are very attentive to their customer, will prepare meal to your liking. One of my favorite spots to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you don't see it on menu just ask.

Four of us had breakfast here. Food and service was great. I also really enjoyed the atmosphere. We looked at the rooms they rent upstairs and were impressed.

After almost 2 weeks traveling by car around the Yucatan, we were dying for a good old-fashioned American burger-and we found it at Milk Bar!We have been several times since then-burgers the first night and they are on par with anything you would find in the States. The second time was for breakfast and I had the omelet with (american style bacon). It came with a McD style hash brown, Mexican beans, salsa and pancakes with fresh fruit. My husband had the eggs, sausage, bacon burrito and loved it. We had Bloody Mary's with breakfast and they were just perfectly spicy!One night we just wanted a munchie so we walked down and had milkshakes and fries! Both were great. Found out he has a few paperbacks if you need to trade-out your reading material (I left 3 news ones for their collection!). We met an American couple one time and a Canadian another. It was nice to have a conversations in English with someone other than your spouse!! The owner is from Texas and couldn't be friendlier!!Definitely a place to go if you are looking for burgers, shakes and a conversation!
