this review is on the medium roast . the beans in this roast were a natural processed by veracruz. I would call it more of a medium-light roast. the beans were fresh and bloomed in my melitta pour over. my first cup on holiday was smooth, sweet and fruity like. a dark plant with medium to full body. I sat on the veranda with the ozean front and a smile on my face. God's good. I only regret not taking the 2 pfund option, back to phoenix. they also have drilling from chiapas. they have half a pound up to 2 pounds and it is a better worth to get the 2 pounds. I paid for a pound under $10. they have chemex, aeropress, melitta 12oz for only 2.25 I suggest pouring over and a baked by cornejo panaderia next door and go over the road and watching them sunrise or sunset.
a small corner coffee shop. we sat outside and “people guarded”; good location. good tasting (bready) coffee. the foamed, warm milk was a nice note. only complaining was that apple maps sent us to the wrong place; no fault of puerto viejo tostadores de cafe!
best whole drilling! we ran during the covid it was awfully happy that everything is open again. all the reds are amazing and then I get a vanilla latte while I am so delicious and great service
This is a very small place with a couple seats inside and six seats outside. There was one barista who was very, very slow. That’s fine we’re on vacation. After paying for our four drinks, she shorted me $2 dollars in change. It took...me a couple of minutes to realize because I paid in dollars and got change in pesos. Whatever. My wife’s latte was great. My americano was terrible. The kids’ hot chocolates were warmed milk with Swiss Miss mix but they seemed to enjoy them. I’d guess buying roasted beans here would be good based on the latte and the price for beans was very reasonable.
We love buying a pound of coffee beans from Puerto Viejo Tostadores de Cafe when we're in Penasco! They only sell arabica beans from either Chiapas or Veracruz in the mountains, depending on the time of year. August, they were from Veracruz. I also love...that they roast the beans right there, so there is such an incredible smell. They have 3 roasts, and we got the Capitan (medium roast). 1 pound was $8.50.
When I came here for the first time, It felt like being in coffee heaven. Don't qualify the details just enjoy any Typ of coffee, they serve. The rest is Mexican style I don't care. Personaly, I love the expresso. Prices are reasonable to cheap....I came back almost every day, sometimes twice.
Clean, small, quaint. Inside it smelled good so we were excited. Love expresso french roast. Tried both it was not a true flavor. Suggest he cleans the machines more routinely hot milk sitting out on the table is not creamer. Price was...fine. Next trip, if I hear from someone I TRUST he has improved that includes his attitude then I would be willing to try only once more. Otherwise I'll just go to OXXO around the corner on the Malecon for coffee.
