I'm Mexican, so I've tried many many taco places. This is not your regular fish taco. La olita's secret recipe is insanely good. Give it a try and you might find yourself coming back every night, just as we did.
Awesome atmosphere, and best tacos in town (big call but best Taco we had in Mexico too I'd say). The fish and shrimp tacos were so good we went back again. Also the cafe mezcal (mezcal coffee shot) is something everyone should try!
Two couples headed here for a late dinner after having a few piña coladas along the beach front of Puerto . We checked few reviews for places to eat, and all agreed La Olita sounded perfect . This unassuming shop front left us all pleasantly surprised. My partner and I shared guacamole, tempura shrimp tacos, and a vegetarian burrito. All of dishes were delicious and very filling. We got all three dishes and a beer each for $15 Australian , which is cheap even for mex. We will definitely be returning to this little gem. The only vice we found was that it was incredibly hot in La Olita , no ventilation and ceiling fans when are eating spicy food just doesn't cut it .Put this place on your list to try !
We were in PE for a week and this was our first dinner out after checking out some reviews. We ate there on Saturday and Thursday evening around 6:00 pm and had the place almost to ourselves.We shared a plate of ceviche as an appetizer and it had a surprise ingredient of super sweet mango bits. The mango added a great touch and it made it different than the ceviche I usually get farther north in Mexico.The shrimp tacos come with a corn tortilla that I suspect is dipped in some type of spicy sauce before it is fried, tempura shrimp, an assortment of veggies like cabbage, onion and maybe a type of squash, a wasabi-like sauce, and crema Fresca (I don't like crema so I got mine without).They are just fantastic! It is the only place we had dinner twice.The restaurant is fairly small with tables inside and out along the sidewalk, and a bar. Our waiter spoke English. If you sit outside you get a limited view of Zicatela Beach if you sit in the right spot.The prices are reasonable and compared to some of the places right on the beach, it is a pretty good deal.If the rest of the menu is as good as the things we tried, you can't go wrong.
Having had the real deal in Ensenada 30 years ago, the true test of great fish tacos is an ample amount of a nice white fish.While the tacos here are crunchy and have great foo foo type fixings the actual fish is pretty mediocre. Not a lot of it either. Not a locals place to eat. Nice people though. Tip- Casa Dans has the real deal on Fri. Sat. Sun. lunch.
We had really delicious tacos and guacamole and the staff is super friendly. The cocktails are really nice too and we loved the murals :)
Local feel with fresh fresh veggies in tacos! Cheap and yummy. No reservation required! Beer nice and cold
It's a fun little place with a great selection of taco's and other fair. Portions are a decent size, you may only need one entree.
