Nice friendly restaurant run by a couple who were chefs in the hotel business before opening thier own restaurant. Good food and great deserts.
Love this place. The chicken, the ribs, the chorizo, the poc chuc... all of it is excellent! I've never had a hot sauce / salsa with so much flavor. Worth the taxi ride into town away from the tourist district.
My Wife and I have now been coming here for 4yrs. It's one of our favorite restaurants and the most adorable owners you'll ever meet. There pork chop parmigian is out of this world as is all there food. They also make the most delicious cakes. Please give it a try they won't dissapoint you.
Everything said about this small family run restaurant is true! We visited this restaurant last week and we were the only ones there. Helena and Philippe were wonderful hosts and the courses are all out and beautifully presented - chips, soup, salad, main dish with rice and vegetables, and garlic bread. My husband had the El Torito special fish and it was to die for! He soaked up every inch of sauce. I had the fish with cilantro, garlic and chiles because I like spicy. It was not too hot, but full of flavor. With four cervezas it was a steal at 370 pesos and a generous tip. Of all the places we went this trip, we would go back more than once, but ran out of time.
I was in Cozumel for 4 weeks. This was my go to restaurant. Dinner comes with soup. Portions are large. Prices are low and this guy can cook. The service is very friendly. Its low key but well worth the trip.
Everything said in the previous reviews was true! All of the dishes ordered were delicious - the soups, fish, quesadillas and nachos were all amazing. The service was so friendly and attentive. Highly recommend and will be returning because I am already craving the cilantro fish! Very reasonable - 8 people with beers was just a little over $80 dollars!
Tried El Torito based on Tripadvisor reviews and was not disappointed. The meals were excellent, with great presentation, and friendly owners. The meals came with very good soup and lots of chips and sauces. El Torito is away from the waterfront area, and is worth finding.
We happened upon El Torito a couple years back, and look forward to returning every time we are in Cozumel! The service is excellent with a homey feel and the cuisine is even better. The restaurant is predominately spanish speaking, however it's been our experience that anything on the menu will knock your socks off. Great way to start your day before heading to the beach! They accept both pesos and US dollars.
