Cafeteria El Arte - Guadalajara

Solid place. Had the quesadilla with bacon, the rib eye and carrot cake. All were good. Nice location in the historic area and nice choice of music they were playing Guns N' Roses)

The food was excellent and reasonably priced. I loved my first visit so much that I went back a second time. And was just as pleased with the food and service on my return visit.

We ordered Mixed Fajita platter and enjoyed it very much. The waiter spoke English and gave us excellent service.

This is a cafe which serves a limited variety of dishes, the taste is good and although it can feel a little stuffed the view is good and the ambient is pleasant. A plus is that it is one of the last places in closing...so that proved a lifesaver our first night in Guadalajara

We walked everywhere around the central zone of the city and El Arte turned out to be convenient, with always good meals and quiet friendly service. The menu was fun and their mango nutella smoothie on a hot afternoon was the perfect choice.

My bf speaks spanish but I don't. Lady at the door very pleasant and nice. After we were seated, I looked at the menu and immediately knew I wanted the tequila crepes. The waiter came by and bf helped me convey the order. Waiter was...then nice enough to give me an English menu as I further contemplated whether I wanted a drink. Eventually no, so bf told them just the tequila crepes. Waiter came out with crepes, and I took a bite, no taste of tequila. Asked the bf to take one bite too to see if he can taste tequila, nope. Suddenly remembered the image of the crepes (just from memory, since they already took away the menu), speculated they gave me the nutella crepes, so immediately stopped after the bite from the bf, waved the waiter down to check with him if this is indeed nutella crepes. He said yes, seemed to want to blame my bf for the wrong order. Oh no you don't. I heard bf tell the waiter tequila crepes AT LEAST TWICE. Anyways eventually the waiter put in the order for us, and the manager( came out, telling us that they can give us a discount for the nutella crepes, but it won't be free since we accepted the order Not only did THEY mess up our order, they expect YOU to memorize their menu and what the food items look like even though it's your first visit there, because once you've take TWO bites, you're trying to get a free meal. That's the only interpretation I can think of since they tried to make us pay for their mistake. Mistakes happen, but the way they tried to fix their mistake? Unacceptable. Terrible customer service, will never visit again.

This cafe is situated in the heart of down town region in Guadalajara. Upon entry the staff were very friendly receptive. The service was expedient and the food, desert and drinks were fantastic. The cafe is equipped with Wi-fi which is great if your...mobile data roaming doesn’t extend to Mexico!
