Each morning we ate breakfast at this tiny (three tables down, three up--steep stairs--and one outside. Arturo, the majordomo made us feel very welcome, though his English was at the same level as our Spanish. Still, we loved this place.
Breakfast is always excellent, the food is prepared the way you want, and the portions are ample, and the price is reasonable.
Delicioys chilaquiles! Also very nice hamburguers, but careful, it's a lot of food, you might want to share. Great place for sunday breakfast with friends and family.
Had a quick lunch here while we were studying in Guanajuato. The food was quick and generously sized. I got the Pozole which I hadn't yet tried and I wasn't disappointed; hot, tangy from the chilli and full of chicken. My partner got a Hawaiian style burger and enjoyed it as well. We ordered a jug of Agua Fresca as well and it was huge.
Nothing too attractive here but the location on the corner. Basic decor and food menu, which isn't too bad of a thing, tacos done well. Good meal just nothing special
Not sure if it lives up to the "sweet little place" with "amazing food" and "great food" descriptions. One thing that annoyed our party of 4 was that there were no prices listed on the menu (very rare in our Mexican travels). The young staff ( 3 persons) were friendly, however since we were the only customers in the place, it was concerning to me that: the condiments for my order of tacos arrived well after I finished eating them & their social interactions were a priority & there was no real follow-up to how our meal was going; which seems to be a universal practice. To be fair; my dining partners were more satisfied with their orders. However, after 4 days in Guanajuato a more than mediocre dining experience, with reasonable prices seems hard to find.
I have had breakfast, lunch and dinner at El Chauistle restaurant many times because I just love it!The price to quality is absolutely great!! Right now there are 4 Chauistles in Guanajuato and the way the places look and how they are decorated is very cool. I always take my foreigners that visit me (couchsurfing) there and they all love it too!Great place!!!
This is a sweet little place with amazing food right in the center of Guanajuato. Stumbled upon it while walking around at lunchtime, and the ladies were lovely and very welcoming and the food was very home style made with a lot of pride.
