My wife and I ate at Bellaria last Saturday night. It was an outstanding evening in every respect. The staff is amazing. Our waitress, I believe the only woman on the staff, was perfect. She was both professional and personable. The food was likewise. Obviously, it is critical that the pasta be absolutely perfect for an Italian restaurant to have any credibility. Here, the pasta could not have been cooked more perfectly. I had the pasta with seafood, including very fresh, large and perfectly cooked shrimp, as well as assorted shellfish. Lobster would have been nice and I suppose I could have requested it that way. My wife had the fusilli with eggplant and ricotta. It was a huge portion and excellent in every respect. My wife also had the minestrone soup which was very good and I had the grilled octopus which was the star of the evening. My wife and I agreed that it was an amazing, perfect dish that could not possibly have been any better. We do not shy away from noisy restaurants unless an important conversation is on the agenda. You can talk here, but it is true you need to do so a little bit loudly. For us, the background chatter is part of the ambiance. If this really turns you off, sit in the small room near the bar where it is a little bit quieter. We were there the night of the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight (which, by the way, was free everywhere in Mexico) and everybody was interested, including the staff at the restaurant. I have posted with this review a picture of four of them, including our superstar waitress, watching the fight on a tiny TV behind the bar. I playfully threatened to post it and they said "no hay problema", so here it is. Of course, I joined them immediately after taking this picture. It was an unforgettable evening all-around and we highly recommend it.
