Una pequeña plaza en José López, El Marruecos ofrece platos marroquíes recién preparados. Siempre empezábamos con ensalada y humus. El mejor humus que hemos probado. Probamos algunos de los platos principales durante nuestro mes en Oaxaca y nunca nos decepcionó. El personal obviamente se preocupa por lo que hace. El pastel de chocolate se convirtió en un artículo para llevar varias noches más. Muy recomendado.

En este momento, debido a las restricciones locales por el COVID-19, El Marruecos solo puede llevar o entregar a domicilio en menús limitados. Pedimos que nos enviaran a domicilio varios platos y ¡resultaron deliciosos! También fueron entregados a tiempo, un domingo por la tarde, con un... servicio de entrega Ya-Va ', que una persona debidamente enmascarada envió a su casa en una motocicleta, a casi 45 minutos del lugar del restaurante al norte de la ciudad. Pedimos varios pedidos de su plato de calamar trenzado y varios pedidos de su alternativa vegetariana, un plato de berenjena, ambos servidos con cuscús y ensalada y pequeños recipientes de un excelente tzatziki. Los calamares estaban perfectamente hervidos y el plato de berenjena también estuvo genial. Volveremos a pedir mientras esté disponible el confinamiento en casa, y luego iremos directamente al restaurante cuando la nueva normalidad lo permita.
We have often eaten in El Morocco, both in its old location and in its new environment in the historic center of Oaxaca between El Llano and Conzatti Parks. We love their salads, vegetarians, chicken or lamb couscous, pastilla and juicy Lamburger. Consistently excellent food and... good service.
This is such a treat to have Pastillas (pastry with chicken seasoned with curry, cinnamon and sprinkled with powered sugar)...sounds wierd but the taste is awesome. This restaurant makes individual ones for a single serving at only 130 pesos! My friend ordered a salad and...we shared this lovely meal.
Sitting around a Moroccan round brass table on comfortable couches, we enjoyed an excellent and well served meal in the upstairs section of this gem.
A local recommended el Morocco to us. The food was authentic and inexpensive, and the atmosphere very nice. Three of us shared four or five dishes plus beers for around $35. Great value and excellent food and service.
The atmosphere was just so so though service was attentive. However, I ordered the lamb with cous cous and vegetables based on other TripAdvisor ratings: though the broth that came with the dish was delicious, the lamb itself was TOUGH. I specifically asked if it was...tender and was told, Yes, ; however, when I tried to cut into it (served with a butter knife) I could not get through it, nor chew it effectively. Ugh! Nothing worse than tough lamb! My husband ordered the kefta: it was DRY. The hummus, however, was delicious, as was the tabouleh. I ordered a mojito: it came stuffed with mint, which I liked, but there was barely any rum in it. I ordered a shot of mezcal which is pervasive in Oaxaca extremely overpriced! All in all, this was the most expensive and least satisfactory dining experience we have had in Oaxaca. Then...came Montezuma 's Revenge. NOT RECOMMENDED.
