My husband and I stay in an apartment above this restaurant that makes it very comfortable for us. Our first meal was the evening of our arrival in Oaxaca. How pleasant to be greeted after a busy day of travel. Most of the...servers speak English and let me try my limited Spanish. We shared a order of the Chili Rellenos that was excellent. I make Chili Rellenos and that's the best I tasted in a restaurant. The next morning I had fresh orange juice. I ordered the breakfast for my husband they had. We have eaten here a few other times and always enjoy the food and service. Whenever we walk on the way to activities for our day, we can see that the restaurant is busy. Most customers are local people. We would recommend this restaurant for its consistency, delicious Mexican cuisine and friendly staff.

I've been here for a recent visit to Oaxaca... I can recommend this place very good food and very friendly staff. I would especially like to mention Rigoberto Matias Rigo... a very friendly person who was perfectly English and friendly enough... to present me with some Oaxaca postcards on my first visit... The food here is appetite and beautifully presented... worthy of a return trip.

This place was really good. We stopped in for lunch. It was right by the Zocalo in a very convenient location. We were sat right away. There are a couple of levels of seating with the center being open and it looks like they have...a band on the bottom floor. We ordered the beef skewers, the Mexican Hot Soup, and the supreme pizza. All were really good and the cost was great too. The Mexican hot soup was not spicy really. It had a little kick but it went a ways pretty quick. The pizza was amazing, totally different than Italian pizza. They set out a bunch of different sauces for it as well. The beef skewers were great. They were served with vegetables and rice. The vegetables tasted very fresh. I was impressed with the whole place. The restrooms were conveniently located and really clean. They had TVs and were playing soccer. It was a great atmosphere. There were serval waiters around almost the whole time so it was really easy to get the bill or get another drink.

We had the pollo con mole negro. It was decent- the chicken was tender, but the sauce was a little salty. The prices were reasonable, though. The service was so-so. They screwed up some orders, got confused over splitting the check, etc. I admit we...had a large group, but our tour director called ahead so they should have been ready for us.

We had a pizza, another day I ordered hamburger and tonight a ham cheese sandwich which came with fries. They are big on cocoa and chocolate in Oaxaca. I ordered a hot chocolate. Excellent, fast service and the food was very good. It's true...there are plenty of incredible restaurants in the area but when you want to break it up with something American, this is the place.

The Sagrario is about as close to a US diner as you can get. My wife and I tried it for breakfast. There was a sign huevos al gusto which means something like eggs any way you like them. Speaking Spanish I was able to...get a torta (sort of like a sub) with a friend egg, melted cheese and a slice of ham. Just what I wanted. My wife got the fruit, granola and yogurt dish which she said was very good. Our coffee was good, not too strong or burnt tasting. The place was clean as a whistle with the employees attacking every surface for dirt or dust. The set up was pleasing and efficient and our waiter was a pleasant and accommodating guy. Our bill came to 176 pesos and I left 200. Not bad for Calle Alcala three blocks from the Zocalo. I even took a picture of my wife 's fruit breakfast. This us not a life changing Cafe/diner but it 's pretty good.
