Harry's - Playa del Carmen

I've never eaten here. The people I have sent here for a drink have all eaten and loved it. Looks like way too much meat for me. I really like sitting at the bar having a cocktail or good mescal served with orange slices and chili. Drinks are in the $10 range and are expertly made by very good bartenders. No peanuts or goldfish for these folks - bacon strips! A glass of strips of bacon is the bar snack - botanas. Upscale spot but it's Playa so flip flops and cover-ups are cool.

This was recommended by our hotel and I am grateful. Steakhouse with 2 vegetarian members in our party and it was perfect. The seafood platter appetizers were a highlight. The food was great. The service was excellent. The waiter was very good at being attentive to all including the kids.

Excellent food. Alejandro Morales and Carlos Arturo took excellent care of our food allergies. The gluten free chocolate dessert is delicious. Great service, very good food. The ambient and decoration is very nice. Good setting.

Good location above the street so you still get the atmosphere but not people hassling you. Had Filet mignon and it was cooked perfectly. Had 3 sides between the 4 of us but could have kept with just two because the portions are very big. Had a lovely cocktail and good wine. Service was impeccable and they present the meat and sea food selection before you decide. Also at the end of the meal they serve cotton candy which is a lovely touch. It was a family members birthday so they gave us complimentary dessert. It is very expensive but worth it.

Today my family and I had the pleasure of being served by Jonathan and Arturo. Both of these gentlemen went above and beyond to meet and exceed our expectations in all aspects of our dining experience. They made excellent recommendations and made sure that EVERYTHING was to our liking from entrees to drinks and the cooking term of our meat. I made sure to thank them in person, but I will thank them here again for making our visit such a memorable, and pleasant experience from beginning to end. If you visit Harry's you will not be disappointed; from excellent service to quality food and drinks. You will definitely get your money and time's worth.

For a Mexican who has visited all of other Harry's in Mexico, it was refreshing to found the same quality that you can get in Polanco's hyper-upscale spot and at the same time an extra-mile effort from Manuel and Harry's manager to position themselves on top of competition. Food is amazing as is in other top five places in Playa, but service, location and ambiance is superb!

We really wanted to love Harry's-and we did like it. We were seated at a great table by the window however surprisingly, three tables around us had a total of 13 children. And there were more kids in other areas of the dining room. While most were well behaved, one table had a very young child that was acting up and the parents were actually encouraging the behavior. While I understand the restaurant cannot control that, we can control whether or not we return. Spending $230 on dinner for 2 without being able to hold a conversation was less enjoyable than it should have been. Having said that, we did enjoy the food. I started with the wedge type salad. While good, it did have too much blue cheese and dressing for my taste and could have been shared by two. The waited did suggest we share but my husband doesn't care for blue cheese. He had the lobster bisque with was loaded with chunks of lobster and that too was enough for two. We each had a filet, cooked perfectly. We shared the Harry's potatoes- very good and also the asparagus. We each had a martini and a glass of wine with dinner. We have now dined at both the Harry's in Cancun and PDC; I like the Cancun restaurant better.

We found this amazing lavish steak house while walking in the 5th ave. at Playa del Carmen. We are steak lovers, and we decided to give it a go, we were greeted nicely at the entrance and were directed to a nice table in the terrace. The service was amazing and it is what you expect from a steak house with a perfect presentation of the meat types. We chose the Fillet Mignon the sharing one! and Oh My!! it was super delicious and cooked to a medium perfection! pink center and crispy from the outside melt inside your mouth! after this, I asked the waiter Viktor to thank the Chef on our behalf for this delicious meal. And guess what?? the chef comes to our table and thanked us for our comments, we had a nice chat with him, he is named Josue Rodriguez. He is an excellent chef and very polite. we exchanged a nice talk about steaks. I think he should be awarded the Michelin star! it was a surreal experience and made our vacation wowwThank you, Josue, for the mouthwatering steak and thank you Viktor and Nouricio for your excellent service.It is a must try resturant!
