Primo - Playa del Carmen

the service was very slow. we were willing to pay for a meal and then a young couple who knew everyone was coming. all attention was given to them when we sat next to them, with our check in the air ready to pay. no answer. that was okay.

primo is one of the best restaurants in playa del carmen. eating is always delicious, and the staff is always helpful and friendly. the dishes are inspired by traditional Mexican food, but increased. the bar menu has an excellent mix, but give the bartender a chance to surprise them and they will not be disappointed. I had an old fashion with a house made bitters, which partly consisted of some of the duck fat from one of their duck pibil court. it was transcendent and of course perfectly connected to the duck. it is one of our favorite spots in the city, and becomes a favorite with everyone we take there. keep the great work primo!

Eating is unique, very tasty, all staff are delighted with the food. the prices are large (compared to similar quality in the usa.) we were 3 times, next week back. we were told that all items are gluten-free, except for one. all beers are handcrafted.

Truly an outstanding dining experience. Our server was fantastic made wonderful recommendations. The cocktails were excellent the bartender came over to check on us periodically. An absolute gem of a restaurant.

Comida excelente, el concepto es muy bueno, pero hay un aspecto negativo; el tiempo de espera entre cada platillo es demasiado; comprendo que es parte de la experiencia, ver cómo preparan tu comida, el exquisito olor de las brasas, la variedad de ingredientes y la frescura de los mismos, pero si es un tanto frustrante esperar tanto, si pudieran mejorar ese aspecto sería excelente, la comida es estupenda, cuidando cada detalle, sabores bien equilibrados y gran presentación, muy recomendable pero hay que ir con paciencia.

We have been two weeks so far in Playa del Carmen and this has been so far the best place we have eaten so far! The food was much more superior compared to other often “premium” restaurants on the 5th Avenue. Everything we tried, from the aquachile, brisket, bone marrow, shrimp their special pork chop with a peanut sauce, could not find a fault. Fantastic ambience with an open fire kitchen, this is a must in Playa. Also the service was impecable and definetely listen to their reccomendations!!

Food is good and service.
