The menu is mostly shrimp and fish. All very fresh and the papas (instead of rice/beans) are deliciosas! The place is small in the front with a limited amount of tables but could be expanded since there is extra space in the building. Availability of wine/beer needs to be listed and promoted.
My husband and I ate here for lunch. We had the combination dinner; the bacon-wrapped shrimp, the garlic shrimp, diablo shrimp and the fried fish. All were delicious. Everything was made fresh to order. The service was excellent and the prices reasonable. For both of us with micheladas was under 400 pesos. We will definitely go back.
Wonderful, but somewhat out-of-the-way restaurant. Low prices, adequate portions. Grilled salmon is an excellent choice, as is the coconut shrimp, Caesar salad, and especially, the shrimp and avocado appetizer. Guacamole is very tasty. Freshly fried, hot tortilla chips start everything off, and key lime pie finishes it. Only complaint is the lack of more than a very few choices of wine (red or white) by the glass. A few well-chosen bottles would complement the delicious seafood. The owners are friendly and hard-working and clearly take pride in their creations.
We just enjoyed comida at Grille Torres...both couples had the 'combination special'. Mauro and his family ensured that we had a lovely meal...perfectly cooked seafood! We will be back with more friends when we return in October. It is truly a gem to be treasured in SMA!
This restaurant should be on anyone's San Miguel list if visiting, interracting with and supporting a local, family-owned establishment is important to you. The food is very fresh, carefully and simply presented, the surroundings more sophisticated than you would expect, the background music very pleasant, and the service extremely friendly and sincere. Tasty, tasty! Please try it! We will see you again next year from Anne and Richard.
Delightful ambiance and excellent food a little bit off the beaten path, The grilled shrimp a la diabla were delicious. We shared the guacamole and key lime pie and the prices were very low, It is closer to the Jardin than it looks and the walk down to the Avenida Guadeloupe was interesting on a lovely San Miguel evening, The street outside was busy so it was easy to get cabs home after dinner.
Four of us went to Grille Torres to share squid and shrimp cocktails as an appetizer. Simple and delicious. The fish a la vera cruzana was tasty with a light bite. The take on Key lime pie was great. The decor is lovely. The chef (totally bilingual) and staff very pleasant. A 500 peso bill fell to the floor without our friend noticing. It was promptly brought back to him. A great experience and value for the money!
I must have walked by this place a hundred times and never noticed it........glad I finally did. A friend suggested we meet there for lunch and we ran into two of her friends and had delightful meals. Between us coconut shrimp, shrimp tacos, garlic shrimp and unimaginative me with a fish sandwich with Ceasar salad........all great. Friendly hands on owner, super service, good wifi, tasty food and I am told good wine prices. It's a keeper.
