We were recommended to go here for Sunday brunch. So we made a reservation. We arrived on time to be greeted my a miserable hostess who could not find our reservation. We were seated however not long after. The brunch was totally disorganized, the wait staff running around and working hard but the brunch station was cold, slow and the staff uninterested. There were management staff running around giving orders in walkie talkies, making the whole scene very stressful and at one point one of them lit a cigarette and sat at the table next to us! We were asked to move tables half way through our meal then informed not too. We asked many times how to pay and got 3 different answers. I'm not sure how this place gets such good reviews. Yes the grounds are lovely but that's all. We have eaten all over Mexico this is by far our worst experience both in service value and quality. The management staff need a course in manners and hotel etiquette. Very disappointing.

My wife & I have eaten Sunday brunch here about 15 times over the past 8 years during February & March and rate it 3.5 stars. The setting is lovely, the food is consistently very good but not excellent, and the service is consistently mediocre, due to lack of management. The best part of brunch is the outside grill where you can obtain from a friendly woman excellent omelets, quesadillas, pancakes, etc. made to order. Inside a number of other food choices are available, but no one seems to freshen or replenish food display cases when they become near empty or depleted; for example, today there were two containers of juices, but the tray of juice glasses was empty and still was empty when I returned 30 minutes later; this sort of thing has been the consistent norm over the years. While I believe the posted Sunday brunch hours are 9:00 to 4:00, don't expect to find all items available after 1:30. For example, today there were many nice looking servings of two kinds of flan available at 1:30, but when I returned a few minutes later to get one, they had been removed.

Beautiful place to enjoy a peaceful breakfast. The food is good, nothing extraordinary, but we all enjoyed our meals. Service was also good. The atmosphere is what makes it worth a visit. While you're there, take a little walk around their gardens, it is lovely back there.

El Hotel está muy bonito, con ese aire de casa antigua. La atención muy buena y son muy amables. Los desayunos son muy ricos y esta ubicado en una zona muy bonita de San Miguel.

In a beautiful old hacienda-style home built by Fra. Mojica, former singer and movie actor, for his mother and named after his former city of residence in California, you can now stay in its hotel rooms or visit for a relaxing breakfast. My favorite thing to do is to come for Sunday brunch and spend two hours. I prefer a table on the rear terrace overlooking the gardens where it is shadier and quieter. A delicious variety of hot foods are available on a buffet table as well as made-in-the-moment custom quesadillas and omelettes with home-made tortillas prepared by female cooks with a variety of delicious ingredients. Any visit to San Miguel should include a visit here.

El desayuno es muy bueno, nos tocó bufete, pero fue realmente bueno. El sitio es pintorescamente elegante y bellísimo. La atención de meseros muy buena.
