Asadero Cien - XALAPA-ENRÍQUEZ

Have gone to Asadero Cien twice this visit, mainly because I love grilled octopus. The first time was good, solid service, and good food. Maybe not spectacular, but very good. The second time was kind of a disaster ... the octopus was still pretty darn good, but the service was terrible. The waiter spoke so fast that two native Spanish speakers (plus me) had to ask three times for him to re-say things. When we requested non-alc beer, he said that they did not have any... the manager later said that they will happily run across the street to get some, and for that reason they have it on the menu. Getting the official receipts ("facturas") took a solid hour afterward... big waste of time.In sum, I have not tried the red meat here. The octopus is the best in the city, and is quite fresh and tasty. That is why I have eaten here twice this visit. The other dishes are good too ... queso asadero served with grilled nopal is excellent. The desserts were quite respectable. The food is thus good, if not spectacular and mind-blowing.The management needs to work hard on improving the service, however, from top to bottom...

Very good tacos. Hand made good tortillas. Try mini tacos of cecina. Variety of tacos, soups and other dishes. Good service, not expensive. The one in Monte Magno is in a small nice plaza.

The menu is nice enough, Cuts from Argentina, Brazil and the States. All served with beans, guacamole and potatoes. You'll find some soups, salads and smaller plates on the menu as well. THe service is fast and friendly and prices OK, but the place is a bit generic and has TVs, a big no-no in my book! The food lacks the care and creativity to lift it above ordinary.

Nice place, good service, reasonable prices, good location. One block from Parque Juarez, Palacio de Gobierno (Governor office) Ayuntamiento (Major office).

I have been in this Resturant 3 times and I was terrible I don't recommend it at all. The meet is absolutely dangerous. The meet is not fresh. I have had so many troubles with my stomach each time I go.

Ordered the grilled ribs.came with a nice bean soup The rib portion is generous and perfectly cooked with seasoning rather than a sticky sweet sauce Service was prompt and good

This restaurant has many locations. You can check the maps on their website for the most convenient one. Some locations have valet parking and most have outdoor seating and playgrounds. My favorite meals is to order one taco de sirloin with an extra corn tortilla

The food at the restaurant was excellent. Everything that was ordered was well prepared. Only issue we had is I got my food first and the rest did not get their food for well over 10 minutes later. Our waitress was not very attentive and the restaurant was not very crowded. All in all, I would return to the restaurant to give it another shot because of the good tasting food.
