Mamasan not only has beautifully prepared food but it has the only rooftop dining in Tulum so you can admire the stars while enjoying a beautiful meal. I loved many dishes but the one I came back for repeatedly was the Tequila pasta with seafood sauteed in tequila in a pink sauce. It is amazing. The ceviche and the grilled arrachera (steak) also exceptional dishes. Also the signature cocktails are masterful. I fell in love with the "Lousy Jade" - Mezcal with cucumber juice, basil and lime. All the ingredients are fresh. So perfect after a hot day on the beach.
Cool building, waiters were nice and attentive.. but anything food related was sub par and honestly abysmal.Came for breakfast and ordered 2 a quinoa and poached egg dishes. Despite, that the restaurant was empty we waited an hour for the food to arrive. It came out with a hard boiled egg and the soggy vegetables. We didn't even end up eating it. After paying for it, they didn't have notes and just gave us a handful of coins as change.
The woman working the Instagram account for them should get five stars as she was able to lure us from another beach club in the area on our way back to the town. She scoped out my other posts in the area and then kept up commenting with me to get me to come by for a drink and appetizer. The place is pretty cool, but was dead when we were there. The rooftop bar is nice, but the staff took awhile to get us drinks/food and we were the only people in the place. That was a bit odd. I would think that you'd be able to get ceviche out fairly quickly, AKA uncooked fish you add lime juice to and voila it's your meal. But that took over 20 mins to get to us and let me say again, we were the only people there. The cocktails we had were good and the ambiance was good. Would love to check the place out on a busier night.
Cool rooftop bar and restaurant. Was quiet but had an easy vibe. Cocktails were heavy on the fruit but a little weak. Food was delish, grilled tuna steak and the Octobus were the best meals.
We went here for dinner and it was amazing. The food and cocktails were some of the best we had in Tulum. The staff are wonderful and attentive. We will definitely be back! A&J
We have been to Tulum 4 times and have tried some of the best spots. This place happened to like a few of my Instagram pictures (good marketing) so we looked them up. 4 reviews on Yelp, all 5 stars, we took a chance. A good chance it was. Better than Gitano, as good as Hartwood. Excellent service, comfy seating. Pricing was better than most places as well. The shrimp entree and the pasta were our favorites but I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Please take the time to check out this hidden spot and enjoy every last minute of it.
Mamasan is a romantic spot to grab a fabulous cocktail and delicious food. The staff were super friendly.
We loved Mamasan! And, Carina, a wonderful woman working there gave us all the Tulum recommendations! It's a beautiful spot with all the necessities and yummy food with great vegan options.
