Very modern, clean and tasty food! Friendly service and they helped us to translate the menu. Interesting menu concept, choose from a base (tostada chilequile etc , then a filling, then a topping. All very fresh and lots of vegetarian choices. Big thumbs up from us :

We were happily surprised by this place. It 's not at all upscale but the food was delicious. I had chilaquiles that had real corn in the sauce something quite different but delicious. The ingredients are excellent and the combinations are delicious. Try it for Mexican dishes that taste great and are healthful.

Some of the best food we have eaten in San Cristobal and a very warm welcome. The tostadas and huareches we chose were stacked with delicious, fresh toppings washed down with guava aguafresca. It's a great place that deserves to do well.

We just happened upon this place and it looked pretty good. For the menu you decide what type of meal you want (omelette, nachos, enchiladas, etc. then you pick a filling and then a sauce. Everything is 70 pesos, a bit more expensive then the basic Tortas place, but also cheaper and better than the restaurants on the walking streets. I'm only sad we found this place on our last day here, I would have liked to try more. There are two owners, both are Mexican and one is from San Cristobal, so you know you will get authentic Mexican. They speak English very well and are more than willing to help you with the menu. The cook will also recommend a sauce that will properly go with your first two choices. They are very friendly and I hope this business goes well for them. Best of luck to you both! Típica is a great breakfast and lunch place. All the food is prepared to order with lots of attention to excellent flavor combinations and presentation. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable and ready to answer all of your questions. Vegans and vegetarians have good options at Típica. We are so happy that we found this restaurant!

Great place! Creative Chiapan dishes servers beautifully in a clean, bright, and colorful space. The owner visited with us and shared his creative views on modern renditions of local cuisine. Both our dishes were beautiful and delicious!
